If you wear glasses, you likely know the struggles of wearing them with a VR headset. Fogging, scratched lenses, weird pressure points and gaps – it can get annoying.
Well, VR Wave has a solution with their line of prescription lenses for virtual reality headsets! They have come out with prescription lenses that attach into your VR headset. Currently, they offer lenses for:
- Oculus Quest 1
- Oculus Quest 2
- Oculus Rift S
- HP Reverb G2
- HTC Vive
- HTC Vive Pro
- Check them out here!
I recently purchased a set of lenses for my Oculus Quest 2. The difference is incredible! Not only do they improve things visually, they also improve the fit of the headset, when compared with wearing glasses.
The price varies depending on your prescription and options chosen. They also offer anti glare and blue light filter as add ons. I skipped the add ons and went for just the basic lenses. For my prescription, each lens was $35, coming to $70 plus tax and shipping for my order. This price is well worth the advantages of being able to use my VR to the full.
VR Wave’s design is great, with a two part magnetic mechanism that makes it super easy to switch out the lenses for sharing and/or cleaning. You snap in one half around the lens of the quest 2, and then the prescription lens attaches to that easily via three magnets.
They include an extra set of the snap in magnetic rings, a lens cleaning wipe, as well as a zippered carrying case with the order. Another nice added touch is a card with your prescription info, as well as a QR code that directs you to a video with installation instructions. Installing the lenses is very simple and straightforward. It only takes a couple of minutes and you’re ready to go.
If you wear glasses and play VR, I very highly recommend ordering prescription lenses from VR Wave. These lenses are a game changer and make virtual reality even more incredible.
Even if you are fortunate enough to not need prescription lenses, VR wave also offers the lenses with no prescription. This is a great option to protect your VR headset’s lenses from scratched. You also can add the blue light and anti glare features to these non-prescription lenses, if you’d like those benefits as well.
Before, during my VR workouts with glasses, I had major issues with fogging and uncomfortable fit from the headset pushing the glasses against my face. I also worried about both my glasses and the Quest lenses getting scratched from them rubbing together. All of those worries are now eliminated!
In addition, VR is more immersive and visually impressive with the VR Wave prescription lenses. No more frames of glasses in your peripheral vision or on the bridge of your nose. And because they are designed to fit perfectly, the visual clarity is much improved compared to wearing glasses. These things help create a truly immersive experience.
If you think you’d benefit from these, like I have, be sure to check out VR Wave and order your lenses today!
